Amir, Macron discuss efforts to combat virus
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Wednesday held a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron during which they discussed the close relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them.
During the call, they reviewed the efforts made by Qatar and France in combating the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) as well as means of co-operation between them in order to combat, limit and prevent its spread.
They also discussed the latest regional and international developments, especially the situation in Libya and Iraq and ways to maintain security and stability there.
Amir condoles with Somali president
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani sent on Wednesday cables of condolences to Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo on the death of former Somali prime minister Nour Hassan Hussein "Nour Adde", praying to the Almighty Allah to have mercy on his soul and to grant him Paradise, and to inspire his family and Somali people with patience and solace.
HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani also sent a cable of condolences to Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khayre.
