Sheikh Khalifa says the Chamber is co-ordinating with governmental agencies on a daily basis to assure that all stakeholders benefit from initiatives such as ‘Takatuf’.

Qatar Chamber’s recently launched ‘Takatuf’ initiative has received a positive response from businessmen across the country, chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani said yesterday.
‘Takatuf’ is an initiative aimed at urging the private sector to participate in supporting the State of Qatar’s efforts and precautionary measures to contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
In a press statement, Sheikh Khalifa said the Chamber is co-ordinating with governmental agencies on a daily basis to assure that all stakeholders benefit from these initiatives, which are in line with the efforts of the Supreme Committee for Crises Management to protect citizens and residents from Covid-19.
Sheikh Khalifa said the Chamber has provided the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) with a batch of 24 initiatives from businessmen, received through an electronic form under the ‘Takatuf’ initiative, which is seen as a platform to enhance the MoPH’s efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
These initiatives included programmes to establish field hospitals and to provide a medical care, if necessary. They also aim to provide drivers, support services, equipment, air conditioners, generators, bread, mineral water of different sizes, masks, and gloves, as well as delivery of food products and fresh local vegetables, meat, eggs, and dates.
The businessmen’s initiatives also included the provision of transportation to and from agencies and warehouses, and offering cleaning and hospitality services, as well as providing sterilisation services for streets, farms, and buildings.
Other initiatives include providing medical equipment and medicine, bed mattresses, volunteers, screens and speakers, printing banners and signs, and fixing self-service devices in labour complexes to reduce the spread of the virus.
The Chamber said it is continuously receiving more initiatives from businessmen.
