Advisory panels for govt school heads, teachers to be set up

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi has issued a ministerial decision to form the Advisory Committee for Government School Principals consisting of 13 members.
The decision stipulates that members of the committee choose, from among them, a chairman, a deputy chairman and a secretary, at their first meeting.
The ministerial decision is based on the system of the Advisory Committee for School Principals and on the results of the electronic voting process to run for membership of the Advisory Committee of School Principals, and taking into account the requirements of the public interest.
The committee seeks to promote a culture of dialogue and consultation between school principles and enable them to express their concerns and suggestions, in order to promote team work spirit and advisory between the educational leaderships and increase their involvement in the development; exchange the different educational experiences to face the education problems and obstacles and propose practical solutions; strengthen the professional partnership with the decision makers at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in order to assess and reform the educational decisions, programmes and plans; and contribute in developing the State’s future educational plans.
According to the ministerial decision, the committee will be concerned with preparing an annual plan and setting up mechanisms for its implementation by monitoring issues and challenges in the educational field, in order to provide appropriate solutions and recommendations to them in accordance with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The committee is also concerned with providing advice to achieve visions and aspirations, offering initiatives to advance the educational process, following up and activating the electronic forum for school principals, and participating in educational meetings and events and social programs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in addition to other tasks assigned to it by the minister.
The decision stipulates that Aisha Eid Salman al-Sulaiti represents the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the committee’s meetings as an observer without having a counted vote when voting. The observer shall exercise the functions set forth in the system of the Advisory Committee. Specialists from the ministry’s employees may be invited to attend the committee’s meetings to discuss the issues raised and the educational challenges in order to reach appropriate solutions.
The duration of committee’s membership is three years, and members are not entitled to run for more than two consecutive terms.
HE al-Hammadi has also issued a ministerial decision to form the advisory committee for government school teachers headed by Saeed Salem Nasser al-Nabit al-Marri from Al Shahaniyah Preparatory/Secondary School for Boys, with the membership of 18 teachers representing all levels of education.
The committee seeks to promote a culture of dialogue and consultation between school teachers and reflect their concerns and suggestions in order to achieve several goals that include engaging teachers in developing the educational process, promoting confidence between leadership and the educational field, exchanging experiences and monitoring challenges and obstacles in the educational field by discussing their causes and proposing solutions to them in line with teachers’ visions and aspirations, as well as strengthening the professional partnership with educational leaders with the aim of evaluating educational decisions, programs and plans and promoting the professional development of teachers to master and improve work and activate dialogue mechanisms, increase communication opportunities, and exchange experiences between teachers and educational leaders.
The committee is also tasked with preparing an annual plan and setting up implementation mechanisms by monitoring issues and challenges in the educational field in order to provide appropriate solutions and recommendations to them in accordance with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. 
The committee also provides advice to help achieve visions and aspirations to advance the educational process, in addition to following up and activating the electronic forum for school teachers, and participating in educational meetings and events and social programmes of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
The decision stipulates that the members of the committee hold a vote to choose a vice-chair from them. The presence of the majority of the committee’s members is required for lawful convening of any meeting, including the chairman or his deputy.
It also stipulates that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education will be represented by Aisha Eid Salman al-Sulaiti in the committee’s meetings as an observer without having a counted vote when voting.
The observer shall exercise the powers and tasks set forth in the system of the advisory committee for government school teachers.
Specialists from the ministry’s employees may be invited to attend the committee’s meetings to discuss issues and the challenges in order to reach appropriate solutions.
