In a profoundly humanitarian gesture, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has donated QR50mn to the Haqq Al-Sham campaign to alleviate the sufferings of the displaced Syrian people.
HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani, CEO of the Qatar Media Corporation, announced this on his official twitter account Friday.
"Our role model and our guardian, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Amir of the country, donated QR50mn to our brothers in Syria within the campaign # Haqq Al-Sham. This is his gift. May Allah protect him.”

The Haqq Al-Sham campaign endeavours to collect donations for people in Syria who fled their homes in what is the world’s largest displaced population. The campaign will provide food, health, shelter, water and sanitation supplies.
In this regard, campaign activities were launched under the aegis of Qatar Foundation for Media Friday with satellite stations and local radio stations, including Qatar TV, Qatar Radio, Holy Quran Radio, Voice of the Gulf and the Cup, Al Rayyan satellite channel and Voice of Al Rayyan Radio, pressed into service.
