Ooredoo was the official telecommunications partner of the Doha Forum 2019.
The two-day forum, which promotes diplomacy, dialogue and diversity, was held at the Sheraton Doha until yesterday.
Established in 2000, the Doha Forum aims to act as a platform for global dialogue on critical challenges facing today’s world. With modern-day borders infinitely more porous than before, and challenges and solutions similarly interlinked, the forum enables the interchange of ideas, discourse, policy making and action-oriented recommendations.
The forum is aimed at linking high-level participants with the power to create change; government leaders, policy makers, private sector representatives and non-government organisations.
As part of the support agreement, Ooredoo hosted the forum’s majlis, which was this year named the Ooredoo Connections Lounge.
The Ooredoo Connections Lounge offered forum participants the opportunity to take some time out from the discussions to connect in a more personal way with the issues addressed at the forum, through experiential activations and thought-provoking exhibits, the company said in a statement.
Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said of the partnership: “We place great emphasis on supporting events that benefit our society and its development, in line with our corporate social responsibility strategy and our commitment to the United Nations sustainability goals, and we were proud to be partnering with such a valuable platform as the Doha Forum.
“We recognise the importance of meaningful, high-level dialogue in driving change, and are confident the 2019 event was another successful forum with a positive outcome.”
