His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment (SCEAI), chaired the council's fourth meeting of 2019 at the Amiri Diwan on Monday.
His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani attended the meeting along with HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and Their Excellencies the council members.
The council discussed topics on the meeting agenda and took the appropriate measures regarding them.
It also reviewed the latest developments in energy affairs, the strategic planning the future development and the organisational structure of the Investment Promotion Agency and its main initiatives contributing to attracting investors.
The council also reviewed the measures taken to develop the business environment in Qatar in terms of speeding up the provision of electricity and the issuance of building permits for projects, as well as facilitating the procedures of registration of ownership and proposing laws and legislation supporting the development of the business environment.
It also reviewed the strategy of manufacturing industries in Qatar, the most important manufacturing sectors attracting investors, the priority sectors and future growth sectors.
The strategy of manufacturing industries aims to increase the number of new factories, especially those related to small and medium enterprises, and increase employment and private sector participation in Qatar National Vision 2030 plans.
