In today’s highly competitive business world, an unreliable Internet connection is more than an inconvenience – it can lead to lost opportunities and revenue. However, thanks to its rapid rollout of 5G technology across the country, Vodafone Qatar offers an all-encompassing solution – one that has the capacity to revolutionise the way we work.
With speeds even greater than 4G can deliver, 5G allows for faster downloads and for users to send and receive large, high-quality files. The technology also facilitates the streaming of high-resolution video, audio and images with very little latency. Network-related tasks, such as sharing large files in the cloud, are faster and more efficient – even on mobile devices – and seem certain to result in huge productivity gains, while seamless connectivity would make remote meetings feel as if you are in the same room eventually.
Vodafone Qatar has invested heavily in delivering the infrastructure needed by companies to unlock the full potential of 5G. Our 5G network is already live across key locations around the country, and we have achieved 70% coverage in Doha – with this percentage continually on the rise. And, earlier this year we launched Vodafone GigaBusiness. Using a state-of-the-art Wi-Fi hub powered by Vodafone’s GigaNet network, GigaBusiness extends the reach of Vodafone 5G to businesses of all sizes, and in all sectors.
Product-oriented businesses will be able to manage production remotely, as well as speed up deliveries to customers, by connecting all the steps in every process. The availability of real-time data to employees and managers on their smart devices can improve decision-making.
And, from a consumer perspective, better accessibility to commerce-related apps on any device (but especially smartphones) will result in more customers being able to browse apps and online, letting e-commerce thrive.
Simply put, 5G is key to driving digital transformation for businesses, whether they are focused on optimisation or innovation. From energy to manufacturing, to healthcare, retail, banking and finance – 5G is the central enabling technology offering the real-time connectivity to transform how businesses communicate and operate. In time, I am confident that it will prove to be a driving force in the nation’s rapid development, allowing our companies and organisations to operate at the very highest global standards.
As well as connecting people, 5G will also drive new technologies and solutions, such as Internet of Things (IoT) innovations, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, automation, connected manufacturing and real-time communication. Its introduction is likely to spark a race to innovate, especially for businesses who leverage IoT in their operations.
The Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition 2019 (Qitcom) is just around the corner, a not-to-be-missed opportunity for businesses and consumers to interact with Vodafone Qatar’s vision for a 5G Giga Society. As we move into the exciting world of 5G, Vodafone Qatar is giving businesses more speed and more opportunities to innovate. The results will power this and future generations in support of the nation’s progress.
