His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the organisation's headquarters in New York on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of regional and international issues, at the forefront the situation in the Middle East especially the developments in Palestine, Syria, Libya and Yemen.
The meeting also reviewed the co-operation between Qatar and the United Nations. In this regard, the UN Secretary-General thanked the Amir for Qatar's efforts in supporting the UN and its various humanitarian and development programmes, in particular its continuous support to UNRWA.
The meeting also dealt with the most important topics on the agenda of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly. The meeting was attended by a number of Their Excellences members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir.
