Qatar has condemned in the strongest terms the bombardment that targeted a residential area in the southern Libyan city of Murzuq, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Monday that the bombing of residential areas represents a violation of the international law, and may amount to a war crime and crimes against humanity. It called on the international community to take an immediate action to protect the civilians.
Amir condoles with Philippine president
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani sent on Monday cables of condolences to Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on the victims of ferries which capsized in the strait between Iloilo City and Guimaras Island.
Qatar condemns explosion in Cairo
Qatar has strongly condemned the explosion that took place in front of the National Cancer Institute in El Manial area of Cairo, killing scores of people and injuring others. In a statement on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm position on rejecting violence, terrorism and criminal acts, whatever the motives and reasons. It expressed Qatar's condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Egypt, wishing the injured a speed recovery.
