Training conclusion - The second batch of the Fostering Life Skills and Citizenship programme traine
The Programme for Fostering Life Skills and Citizenship is aimed at youth and targets young men and women aged 13-24 years and 25-45 years to be trained in the Guide on Fostering Life Skills and Citizenship.

The Social Development Centre (Nama) has concluded the training for the second batch of the Fostering Life Skills and Citizenship programme trainees in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). 
The second batch is a continuation of the first group course, which was held last February as part of a series of programmes and periodic workshops organised by the centre to provide the youth with the necessary skills and develop their abilities.
The initiative is aimed at enabling the youth to make the appropriate decisions and be among the active players in implementing Qatar National Vision 2030, as well as leaving their mark on the economic and social transformation of Qatari society, Nama said in a statement.
The Programme for Fostering Life Skills and Citizenship is aimed at youth, who are considered the heartbeat of the Qatari community, and targets young men and women aged 13-24 years and 25-45 years to be trained in the Guide on Fostering Life Skills and Citizenship. 
"The programme will stimulate the participants’ ambitions and aspirations and develop their capabilities through a selection of programmes that serve their future cognitive needs and builds an effective, integrated generation with a great capacity for creativity, leadership and the implementation of social entrepreneurship projects that serve the interests of the country and contribute to its prosperity," the statement explains.
The programme, which was attended by 26 young men and women, comes within the framework of a co-operation protocol that was signed and ratified between Nama and the UNFPA. It is based mainly on motivating and supporting youth and making them a leading contributor. It includes a number of outputs and activities agreed upon in the previous four stages, such as providing trainees with complete knowledge of the contents of the Life Skills and Citizenship Enhancement Guide for use in the training of trainers, enhancing trainees' knowledge of life skills concepts and interactive training methods, as well as preparing a cadre of national experts capable of training trainers on the guide and its integration into the scientific outcome, knowledge, tools and programmes gained from training, according to Nama. 
The trainers will also be granted an accredited trainer certificate from the UNFPA and Nama for the training on the Guide to the Fostering of Life Skills and Citizenship.
Mariam al-Mannai, director of Community Services, said: "Such educational opportunities represent an important asset for the young generation in our beloved country, which contributes directly to the formation of highly skilled youth in various vital fields. Such training programmes also enable participants to develop their ideas and broaden their vision and experiences and motivates them to be active partners in building their community and provide them with greater confidence in being leaders in the management of future projects." 
The Youth Development Section of the Department of Community Services at Nama oversaw the programme based on their group of professional trainers, such as trainer Mona al-Saeed, who were keen to implement this programme at the highest professional standards and help the group of participants achieve the desired benefits.
