Italian Defence Minister Elisabetta Trenta has arrived in Qatar on an official visit aimed at enhancing the friendly and strategic relations between the two countries, Italian ambassador Pasquale Salzano on Monday said. She is scheduled to meet HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah on Tuesday.
During an informal meeting, Gulf Times Editor-in-Chief Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudahka welcomed the minister to Qatar and conveyed his greetings. Faisal thanked Trenta for visiting Qatar at this critical time and lauded Italy's unstinting support for Qatar in the face of the unjust blockade imposed by its neighbours.
