Retaj Hotels & Hospitality Group has signed an agreement with the Turkish Real Estate Development and Construction Company (ITTI) to manage and operate Retaj Silivri Resort in Turkey.
This makes Retaj the first Arab hotel chain to run a resort in the Silivri area, which is considered a celebrated retreat and recreational haven for Arab and Turkish businesspersons due to its large beaches and greenery and for being a favourite place for beach fans of beach sports, paragliding and parachuting, the Group has said in a statement.
The area also has the largest golf courses in Istanbul, and enjoys a unique location along main and international roads of Turkey, the statement notes, adding that Retaj Silvery Resort is the “first project of its kind” in the Silivri-Istanbul region.
The agreement was signed at Retaj Al Rayyan Hotel by Sheikh Nayef bin Eid al-Thani, chairman of Retaj Group; and Ihap Sihe, CEO of ITTI. The ceremony was attended by Prof Yaseen Aktay, senior adviser to the President of the Turkish Justice and Development Party, Recep Tayyip Erdogan; Abdul Aziz bin Khaled al-Attiyah, Qatari businessman and owner-partner of the project; Fikret ?zer, ambassador of Turkey to Qatar, and other dignitaries and officials from both sides.
The ceremony also included the signing of a technical support contract to provide technical consultation and support by Retaj Hotels and Hospitality.
Sheikh Nayef said, “We are pleased to translate this co-operation between the two brotherly countries with the signing of a new management contract in Turkey with ITTI for real estate development and construction.”
He pointed out that the management and operation of hotels in Turkey stems from the Group’s vision and strategy aimed at expanding local and international investment horizons as well as Qatar’s vision of diversifying its sources of income and resources. Further, Retaj Hotels & Hospitality Group is keen on providing conservative tourism to Qatari and other Arab visitors who are primarily targeted by Turkish tourism, it was observed.
Sihe added, “We wanted the project to be an integrated tourist resort, where we seek to achieve the highest levels of luxury for guests and provide the best amenities and privacy.”
Retaj Siliviri Resort is the “first of its kind” in the Silivri-Istanbul region as it is the first resort to meet the needs of conservative families who want to relax and spend their holidays in a five-star resort.
