The Advisory Council held its regular weekly meeting on Monday under the chairmanship of HE the Council's Deputy Speaker Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Sulaiti.
At the outset of the meeting, the Council reviewed the memorandum of the General Secretariat of the Cabinet on the Advisory Council's recommendation on Status of Judicial Seizure. The memorandum of the General Secretariat of the Cabinet approved the recommendation of the Advisoyy Council to rehabilitate and train candidates to obtain the status of judicial seizure.
The memorandum also included the administration of legislation in the General Secretariat of the Cabinet to take the necessary measures to prepare a study on the recommendation of the Advisory Council to include the penalty imposed on violators in light of the views of the Public Prosecution.
The Advisory Council expressed thanks and appreciation to the government for its keenness and response to its recommendation in this regard and the measures it has taken.
During the meeting, the Council discussed a draft law to repeal Law No 6 of 2016 on combating the smuggling of petroleum products and the illicit transaction in them.
After discussion, the Council approved the mentioned draft law and decided to convey its recommendations to the government.
The Council also reviewed a report by its delegation participating in the first plenary session of the third session of the second legislative term of the Arab parliament, held recently at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo.
The Council was briefed on the report of its delegation participating in the Mediterranean Dialogue Conference 2019, held recently in Rome, Italy.
Meanwhile, the Internal and External Affairs Committee of the Advisory Council held a meeting Monday, chaired by its Rapporteur Abdulla bin Fahad bin Ghorab al-Marri.
At the meeting, the Committee endorsed the recommendations on the request for a general discussion on the increase of traffic accidents in Qatar and decided to raise its recommendations to the Advisory Council.
