The Court of Appeal has sentenced two expatriate men to 15 years in jail and subsequent deportation for an attempted burglary.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that the court has also acquitted a third defendant.
The trio were accused by the court of attempting to steal the money of a company to resolve a financial crisis they had. They colluded to attack the employees in charge of paying the salaries. On the salary payment day, they attempted to attack the employee in charge and grab a sum of QR6mn.
However, the security staff of the company managed to control the situation and two of the defendants were arrested on the spot and the third escaped to another GCC country. Later, he was arrested by the Interpol and brought back to Qatar, and the court acquitted him for not being guilty.Last updated: September 18 2016 09:04 PM
