Ooredoo has announced its Nojoom Points Donation Drive has reached 3mn Nojoom Points donated to Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) in honour of World Cancer Day 2021.
Ooredoo has organised the donation drive, which runs until the end of February, to encourage Nojoom members to join the commitment with an ambitious target of a total donation of 2mn Nojoom Points to Qatar Cancer Society. This target has been vastly exceeded, with a few days still left to donate, the company has said in a statement.
QCS actively seeks to raise awareness of the disease, educate communities and promote early detection, as well as support those with cancer and their families.
The organisation’s campaign for World Cancer Day 2021 is ‘I am, I will’, recognising that each individual’s commitment to act will lead to powerful progress in reducing the global impact of cancer, and that actions – whether big or small – will lead to lasting, positive change.
Members are able to donate via the Ooredoo App or the Ooredoo website, and can keep track of progress towards the target via the dedicated Donation Meter page.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director of PR at Ooredoo, said: “We have a longstanding partnership with Qatar Cancer Society and are proud to work with the organisation on this charitable initiative. Their work within the community is invaluable, and we’re honoured to be able to support them in any way we can.
"We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every Nojoom member who has so generously donated their Nojoom Points to this worthwhile cause, enabling Qatar Cancer Society to continue to help those affected by cancer, their families and our wider communities. And we would also like to remind members that there is still time to donate!”
