Morocco's ambassador to Qatar Mohamed Setri has affirmed the excellent relations between Qatar and Morocco, stressing that they are historic, solid and deep-rooted relations.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) ahead of the Qatar National Day, the ambassador said that the two countries' bilateral ties are dynamic and cemented with the steady fraternal bonds between the two leaders; His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and King Mohamed VI. This is owing to the solid ground embodied in the rapprochement between the two brotherly nations, he noted.
The ambassador said these relations, which cover several aspects are also characterised by active solidarity, continuous co-ordination and mutual support at the bilateral and multilateral levels, reiterating the embassy's keenness to push these relations to broader horizons, especially in the economic and investment sectors to serve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
On the occasion of Qatar National Day, the ambassador said; "On my own behalf, and on behalf of all the members of the embassy and the Moroccan community, I extend congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, praying to the Almighty for happy returns and further progress to the brotherly Qatari people".
He affirmed that the celebration of the day is an occasion to commend the achievements made by Qatar, under the wise leadership of HH the Amir, who continues with wisdom and professionalism in his fruitful efforts and constructive initiatives to achieve more gains in the political, economic, social and other fields.
The ambassador pointed out that 2020 was a difficult and exceptional year for everyone due to the catastrophic repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that Qatar was able to overcome the challenges, thanks to the insight, proactive approach, and the successful choices of HH the Amir, and praised the steps that have been taken, considering them to be effective and distinct steps that have proven successful in addressing the epidemic.
Qatar is one of the countries in the world with the lowest death rate from the virus, and with the highest recovery rate, said the ambassador recalling HH the Amir's speech before the Shura Council when His Highness affirmed that Qatar opted for carefully considered partial and interim lockdowns while stressing precautionary measures and maximum readiness to isolate and treat those infected after the assessment of cases. In addition measures were taken to support the private sector and maintain the integrity of the financial, banking markets and the Qatari riyal, and to maintain the general State's budget.
