Ooredoo, Qatar’s 'Supernet pioneer', is now making available the Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway to all customers, it was announced on Tuesday.
This customer-premises equipment (CPE) device is designed to bring the best quality WiFi signal to all corners of the home.
To make life easier for the consumer, the Gateway is sold with a unique visual aid to help with the initial installation and create optimal conditions for total 5G all throughout a place of residence. As a plug-and-play solution, the Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway is simple to install. A powerful piece of CPE, it maximises spectral assets and uses the industry’s highest gain (11 dBi) antenna to deliver up to twice the indoor coverage, three times the downlink capacity and five times the uplink capacity than that of traditional CPE designs.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari – director PR at Ooredoo – said: “Ooredoo is delighted to deploy the Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway, which provides reliable WiFi performance that can be easily expanded with Nokia WiFi beacons if needed. Its contemporary clean and modern design blends seamlessly into the home environment, bringing closer Ooredoo’s dream of ensuring all households are equipped to make the most of the 5G revolution.”
Other device features of this fully self-contained, full-featured indoor residential gateway include a 5G New Radio WAN connection with 11 dBi high gain antenna 4G WAN; carrier aggregation across supported 4G/5G bands; a 1 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) WAN; a 3 GigE LAN; and a Wi-Fi (3x3 802.11b/g/n, 4x4 802.11ac MU-MIMO) LAN.
